SES Control and Display Unit - Versatile Console System
The C3DU-VCS is designed for compatibility with a range of naval applications and environments and offers low cost customisation to meet specific requirements. The product has a standard VCS form-factor, being intended for use in standard VCS console systems. Interface and power connections are via McMurdo connectors. Spigot and connector positioning is configurable for specific applications.
The unit is based on a COTS processor module and high performance flat panel display. Standard interface options include RS232, RS422 and Ethernet, other interface options, including Synchro, are available using a built in expansion slot. Where specialist interface requirements are defined and no COTS interface module exists, SES offer a complete design service.
The display module is a full colour, QVGA (320x240), Active Matrix LCD device. The display offers high brightness and contrast ratio and is readable in high ambient light conditions. Full dimming capability is provided, either via remote commands or key inputs. The unit can display text, graphic or video data and can operate as a simple display, or provide interaction with a host system via operator key switch controls. Ten key switches are provided. Five have preset functions, five are context sensitive soft-keys. Typical soft-key applications are menu navigation and data selection operations.
The C3DU-VCS is a fully solid state device, ensuring excellent performance in the harshest of environments.
